Price drop alerts for any page with a price

Flights, hotels, that jacket you keep coming back to. Prices move at odd hours, and price trackers only cover the retailers they have deals with. TabEye watches the exact price on the exact page you choose and alerts you the moment the number changes.

Why watch the page instead of a tracker

Price trackers cover a catalog of big retailers and update when their crawler gets around to it. TabEye has no catalog: any page with a price on it can be watched, including airline fare pages for your specific dates, hotel search results, small independent shops and member-only prices. And because the check happens in your own browser, you see your region, your currency and your logged-in discounts, not what a data center in another country sees.

Set up a price alert

Step-by-step setup

  1. Install TabEye from the Chrome Web Store and open the page with the price: the product page, or the flight or hotel search results for your dates.
  2. Press P and drag a box around the price itself. This is the key step for prices: the rest of the page (stock counters, reviews, "people are viewing") changes constantly, but your selection ignores all of it.
  3. Set the interval on the Monitor tab. Prices rarely move minute to minute, so every 30 minutes to a few hours is usually plenty.
  4. Click Start Monitoring This Tab. TabEye alerts you whenever the selected price changes, up or down.

Alert only at your target price

Waiting for a specific number? Use a keyword instead of a selection. Set the keyword to your target price, for example $399, with mode appears. TabEye stays silent through every wobble and pings you only when the page first shows that exact figure. It is a simple trick, but it turns a change monitor into a price threshold alert.

Tips for price watching

  • Watch the same product at two or three retailers in separate tabs and let them race.
  • Longer intervals are kinder to the site and still catch every move; a price that drops at 3am is still dropped at 7am.
  • Send price alerts to a Discord channel you share, so the whole group sees the fare drop at the same time. Setup is in the documentation.
  • Flight results can re-render without changing the fare. If you get noisy alerts, switch to Confirmed detection mode in Settings.

Price alert questions

Can I set a target price?

Yes, with the keyword trick: set your target figure, like "$399", as a keyword with mode appears. TabEye alerts only when the page first shows that number.

Does it work on flight and hotel searches?

Yes. Run the search for your dates, then watch the results page. Selecting just the fare with the P hotkey keeps the alert clean while the rest of the page shuffles.

Will I see my own currency and member prices?

Yes. The check happens in your own browser session, so the price TabEye watches is exactly the price you would see: your region, your currency, your loyalty discounts.

How many prices can I watch at once?

One monitor per tab, and each has its own interval. Watching a handful of retailers side by side is a normal setup.
